According to reports, 23-year-old Gabrielle Hutchinson, a member of the event’s security team, died in the early hours of this morning, becoming the second person to die in the stampede at Asake sold-out show at Brixton O2 Arena.
Rebecca Ikumelo, a Nigerian, died earlier from injuries sustained during the stampede, which occurred after thousands of fans who did not have tickets attempted to force their way through the gate.

Asake was overcome with emotion as he expressed his heartfelt condolences to Rebecca’s family and described the event as regretful.
Asake had put out a notice before the show that fans without valid tickets shouldn’t show up as there won’t be tickets at the venue. Hundreds of fans without tickets, however, showed up and attempted to force their way in.
