A new song called “My Baby” by Bien (of the Kenyan musical ensemble Sauti Sol) has been made available.
Bien looks to be collaborating with Nigerian vocal talent Ayra Starr on a potential Afro-Pop album in the song.
The hit song “Away” from Ayra Starr’s self-titled debut extended play reached number 17 on the US Billboard Top Triller Global and spent two weeks at number four on Nigeria’s TurnTable Top 50 in early 2021. This helped pave the way for the release of her debut full-length mixtape, 19 & Dangerous in August 2021. The album, which is mostly classified as Afropop and R&B, has received positive reviews from critics. In Nigeria, it gave rise to two top forty songs. The lead single, “Bloody Samaritan,” reached the top of the Top 50 chart, making history as the first solo track by a female artist to do so. Starr made her debut on the Pandora Predictions chart and peaked at number two on Billboard’s Next chart on August 28, 2021.
Bien and Ayra Starr (both from East-West Africa) are connected by the love song “My Baby” thanks to their complementary melodic voice harmonies.
On December 28, 1987, Bien Aimé Baraza was born in Nairobi, Kenya. His bandmates, Willis Chimano and Savara Mudigi, are from his time at Upper Hill High School. He afterwards attended the United States International University for Journalism and Media Studies, where he received his degree in 2011.
The line from Bien’s song “My Baby” describes his tenacity in pursuing the person he loves for 40 days and 40 nights.
The performer produces a sound that is akin to a breath of fresh air by fusing the explosive tempo and intensity of Afrobeats with the percussive and electronic vibes of Electronic Dance Music.
It would also be beneficial if you didn’t ignore this amazing smash song.
The production was handled by Hendrix. Additionally, “My Baby” is Bien’s first song of the year and will be included on his solo album.

You! You got the keys to my heart
My baby never lets me down
My baby never lets me down
My baby never
You! You deserve a crown
My baby never lets me down
My baby never lets me down
My baby never
Baby you’re my dealer
You’re my energy
I will give you my love
I will give you all of me
Forty days and forty nights
In the wilderness savanna
Lower lows and higher highs
Still I never found another
Do me well you do me right
High me up like marijuana
Got me canceling my flight, for you
And if you call me for 3 AM nita-pick
If you wanna chill with the boy tuta-chill
Even if you tell me a lie nita-belive
No wonder the mandem say I’m naive
You! You got the keys to my heart
My baby never lets me down
My baby never lets me down
My baby never
You! You deserve a crown
My baby never lets me down
My baby never lets me down
My baby never, ooh
Baby you’re my dealer
Baby you’re my energy
I go give you mulla
I go give you all of me
Baby you’re my dealer
Baby you’re my energy
I go give you mulla
I go give you all of me
If you call me for 3 AM nitapick
Baby cos you stole my heart like a thief
Even if you tell me a lie nita-believe
No wonder my girlfriends call me naive
And don’t you leave
You’re all I need
Take all of me
Take all of me yeah
You! You got the keys to my heart
My baby never lets me down
My baby never lets me down
My baby never
You! You deserve a crown
My baby never lets me down
My baby never lets me down
My baby never, oooh
