When operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) stormed the Kirikiri prison in Apapa, Lagos, and apprehended an inmate described as “a slim young man,” tensions flared.
A large number of secret police operatives stormed the penitentiary last week in search of the man who was threatening one of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s daughters.

Daily Post learnt on Monday night that the VP’s second daughter Kiki was the target of “a serious threat to life”.

The security agents stormed the prison on Sunday, March 12 and completed the mission after a 72-hour presence that saw staff and visitors subjected to additional scrutiny before entry or exit.

According to sources, the operatives succeeded in locating the culprit after days of tactics, patrol, and intelligence gathering, which included questioning the suspect’s father.

“They didn’t leave until the operation was finished,” a source told the Daily Post. The headquarters gave the order to find the person(s) responsible for the threat by any means necessary.

“The phone used was under surveillance; he was eventually found at the Medium Security Prison last Tuesday or Wednesday. Previously, the agents had moved from cell to cell.”

Following the conclusion of the operation, the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) sent a special team to the prison on Thursday.

The “external officers” allegedly searched different cells for hours, confiscating sim cards, undeclared cash, phones, and other prohibited items.

“A reorganization is expected. “What happened will almost certainly result in some personnel being transferred out of Kirikiri,” a prison officer hinted.
