Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, has urged residents of Lagos State to remain calm and peaceful.
According to Naija News, Tinubu made the announcement hours after being defeated by the Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, in Lagos State.

Tinubu appealed to the people of Lagos State to be calm and avoid any act that could lead to the breakdown of law and order in a statement released Monday by the Presidential Campaign Council and signed by Director of Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the APC presidential candidate, the outcome of the presidential election in Lagos, where the Labour Party won, should not be a source of provocation, because the beauty of democracy is that people have the right to vote for the candidate of their choice.

As a Democrat, the former Lagos State governor stated that he must accept the outcome of any election, whether favorable or unfavorable.

Tinubu expressed grave concern about reports of violence in various parts of the state, particularly attacks on Igbo traders.

The former governor of Lagos State condemned all forms of violence against people of any ethnic group in Lagos.

“The fact that the APC narrowly lost Lagos State to another party should not be the reason for violence. As a democrat, you win some, you lose some. We must allow the process to continue unhindered across the country while we maintain peace and decorum,” the statement said.
