As part of Nigeria’s commitment to a safer and healthier global climate, President Muhammadu Buhari has announced new plans in a revamped strategy to phase out the use of kerosene in the country by 2030.

The president stated this today during a virtual meeting on the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate Change held by US President Joe Biden (MEF).

Increased use of bus rapid transit as a mode of public transportation, a 50% reduction in the fraction of crop wastes burned by 2030, and the implementation of forest programs are among the items on President Buhari’s updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC).
