Cristiano Ronaldo and Kathryn Mayorga, his rape accuser Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese superstar, was ordered on Tuesday to pay over $300,000 to his false rape accuser, Kathryn Mayorga.
This will cover his legal fees for defending himself in a federal civil case alleging he raped the woman in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2009.
The case was dismissed in June after the judge determined that the plaintiff’s lawyer had acted improperly.
It was deemed so severe that a fair trial for Ronaldo would be impossible.
Leslie Stovall, the attorney for accuser Kathryn Mayorga, was ordered by US District Judge Jennifer Dorsey to pay Ronaldo $334,637.50.
Ronaldo’s legal team had asked for more money. Dorsey, on the other hand, concluded that Ronaldo and his lawyers had dragged the case out for far too long.
