Denrele Edun, a Nigerian media personality, has maintained that he is not transsexual.

Denrele, James Brown, and other well-known crossdressers have distanced themselves from the fashion designer.

When asked about the cross-dressing parallel on Vanguard’s internet TV show, ‘Lunch Date with Vanguard,’ he made the finding.

The fashion legend stated that he is not a social media star and that his success is due to hard work and dedication rather than social media influence.

Denrele has worked in the industry since 1994, long before social media existed.

He acknowledges the flow of creatives in this generation who have made a name for themselves through the brand presentation, social media effect, and online strength, but he believes there is a considerable divide between them.

“YOU CAN’T THROW AWAY SOMEONE’S PORTFOLIO WHO HAS BEEN ACTING, MODELING, AND REVOLUTIONALIZING NIGERIA’S RED CARPET CULTURE,” HE SAID. DENRELE ADDED THAT SINCE 2005, HE HAS BEEN A HUGE INFLUENCE IN FASHION, AS WELL AS AN ICONIC FIGURE AND INSTRUMENTAL IN THE SUCCESSES OF A PLETHORA OF NIGERIAN ARTISTS FROM THAT GENERATION TO THE PRESENT. HIS FASHION STYLE WAS INSPIRED BY POP ARTISTS LIKE JIM REEVES, GIBSON BROTHER, AND SPECIFICALLY BONNY M, HE SAID, AND SHOULD NOT BE MISINTERPRETED AS CROSS-DRESSING. THE WELL-KNOWN ENTERTAINER ADDED THAT PEOPLE DON’T UNDERSTAND HIS BRAND, EXPLAINING THE ERROR. HIS BRAND IS UNCONVENTIONAL AND OUT OF THE BOX, HE SAID.
