Romelu Lukaku reportedly shed tears as Chelsea and Inter Milan agreed to a one-season loan agreement, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter will give the Blues a loan fee of £7 million plus add-ons.
By accepting a pay cut of 35% on his weekly salary of £325,000 at Stamford Bridge, Lukaku will make sacrifices on his own behalf.
Only one year after moving to Chelsea in a club-record £97.5 million transfer, the 29-year-old is back at the San Siro.
He scored 15 goals in 44 games while he was there.
After that, Lukaku derailed the team’s campaign by criticising manager Thomas Tuchel in a TV interview he gave in December.
It has since been discovered that when Sebastien Ledure, Lukaku’s attorney, informed him that a breakthrough had been made, Lukaku became distraught.
