Gunshots were fired at the Labour Party campaign train in the Epe area of Lagos state, causing panic.

The shooting occurred on March 11, 2023, as confirmed by the party’s governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

He stated this in an interview with Arise TV this morning. Gbadebo stated that he was in the community to campaign when some men wearing campaign shirts from a political party obstructed their movement.

“There have been numerous threats. We have a lot of information about potential assassination attempts on my life”. Mr. Gbadebo stated

“Yes. We were accompanied by Honorable Wale Oluwo. We also had Honorable Najid of the PDP working with us, and they were also targeted in Epe yesterday”.

“As our convoy was moving, a large group of young men appeared and attempted to block the road, preventing us from entering.

“It was very important that we did not show any force because what will then happen as they are trying to propangadize a Gbadebo to a Chinedu, they will now say I came in there and I tried to take over Epe with guns.

“We had the police go in there and try to allay everything. The DSS was also very helpful in trying to neutralize the situation. They did shoot at us and they did try to intimidate us”. He narrated.
