Kylian Mbappe was the star of the show as France advanced to the World Cup quarter-finals with a win over Poland – and the Paris Saint-Germain striker also celebrated a personal milestone.
Mbappe scored twice in the second half as the French champions cruised through Poland 3-1 on Sunday. Olivier Giroud scored just before halftime off Mbappe’s pass to become France’s all-time leading scorer.
The 23-year-old then stole the spotlight with two spectacular strikes. First, he fired an unstoppable shot past the tournament’s outstanding goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny, before curling a beautiful finish into the far corner to make it 3-0.
