MANCHESTER CITY has confirmed that Pep Guardiola has signed a new contract extension until 2025.

Guardiola, whose contract was set to expire at the end of this season, has agreed to a two-year extension. There were suspicions at City that Guardiola would leave at the conclusion of the season, but the 51-year-old has put an end to such speculation by signing a new contract.

“I am thrilled to be continuing at Manchester City for another two years,” Guardiola stated. I can’t thank everyone at the club enough for their faith in me. I’m content and at ease, and I have everything I need to execute my job well.

“I am confident that the next chapter of our club will be outstanding over the next decade.” It has happened in the last ten years and will happen again in the next ten since this club is so steady.

“It felt special to be here from day one.” I couldn’t be in a better situation. I still believe there is more we can accomplish together, which is why I want to stay and continue competing for trophies.”

“I am delighted that Pep’s journey with Manchester City will continue,” City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said.

“He has already contributed so much to the success and fabric of this organization, and it’s exciting to think what might be possible given the energy, hunger, and ambition that he clearly still has.

“Under his very special leadership, our first team has accomplished so much, whilst continuously playing, and constantly evolving, a City style of football that is admired the world over.

“Like every City fan, I am looking forward to what lies ahead.”
