To find out who would be paid the most in 2022, Voetbal Travel examined the incomes of over 32,000 active soccer players from 200+ nations, mapping each country’s best-paid soccer star!

Important Findings

Kylian Mbappe, France’s highest-paid soccer player, earns more than $88 million a year. Argentina comes in second with Lionel Messi ($59 million), while Brazil comes in third with Neymar ($50 million).

Sadio Mané is the highest-paid soccer player in Africa, earning approximately $21 million per year!

Christiano Ronaldo, 37, is the highest-paid soccer player in Portugal, while Eden Hazard is the highest-paid player in Belgium. They are, together with Mbappé, the top three highest-paid footballers in Europe.

Heung-Min Son, a South Korean celebrity, is the most paid in the country and in Asia. Paris Saint-Germain has the most wealthy players in six countries, followed by Napoli, Liverpool, and Barcelona, each with four.

The English Premier League is home to the highest-paid players in the country (24).

Top 5 in the World

France is #1, according to Voetbal Travel. Kylian Mbappé, their top-paid player, earns $88,359,383 a year, making him the most paid soccer player in the world! Another South American country, Brazil, ranks third, with Neymar earning $50,494,047 each year. Neymar, who made his national team debut at the age of 18, has 119 caps and 74 goals for Brazil.

Christiano Ronaldo, 37, is the best-paid soccer player in Portugal, earning $30,295,524 a year, while Real Madrid midfielder Eden Hazard ($29,391,180) is the highest-paid player in Belgium.

Sadio Mané, Senegal’s all-time leading goalscorer, is Africa’s highest-paid player! His new deal with Bayern Munich guarantees an annual income of $21,382,762 after he was transferred from Liverpool FC.
