Popular gospel performer, Mercy Chinwo has threatened to sue Nigerian singer Obidiz Lawson for derogatory and defamatory use of her name.
According to Naija News, Obidiz released an album last month, with one of the single tracks named “Mercy Chinwo.”

Mercy expressed her displeasure with the singer’s use of her name in a disparaging and derogatory way in a letter.

She advised Obidiz to remove the music from all streaming platforms and promotional videos from all social media platforms.

The gospel performer also demanded that Obidiz issue a public apology, expressing regret for the derogatory use of her name.

She went on to say that failure to fulfill the conditions would result in a lawsuit against him, with damages totaling two billion Naira.
