Emeka was born on January 29, 1996, to an Igbo family and grew up in Nigeria, where he was exposed to Yoruba and Urhobo culture. Blaqbonez hails from Imo state, a state in south-eastern Nigeria dominated by the Igbo tribe. He grew up in a Yoruba and Urhobo mixed atmosphere with his pastor mother. Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) was where he received his tertiary education, where he studied Computer Engineering.
The artist compares the ultimate sound to a breath of fresh air because it combines the dynamic tempo and intensity of afrobeat with electronic dance music’s percussive and electronic vibes.
