The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) has urged all network service providers to expedite the deployment of new harmonized USSD codes, which will allow all networks to utilize a common code to perform services such as airtime recharge, balance check, data purchase, and so on. This implies that the same code you use to check your MTN account balance will also be used to check your Airtel, Glo, or 9mobile balance. The launch date for this new development has been established for May 17, 2023. The harmonized codes have also been implemented as of this writing.
