Shortly after President Buhari’s declaration, Nigerians stormed the CBN with sacks of old #500 and #1000 notes.

People are seen carrying old notes in sacks to a CBN branch in Gombe state in a viral video.

While this may be considered compliance with CBN directives, it is remarkable that people still have such a large amount in storage in the midst of naira scarcity.
