Nigerians have slammed Afrobeat artist Timaya for complaining about the unexpectedly high cost of petrol in Nigeria.
Timaya defied expectations by performing among his colleagues at Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inauguration, despite the fact that his supporters never supported him.
He was said to have been paid approximately ten million dollars for an electric performance he delivered to the delight of his audience during the Inauguration.
Despite the brilliance of the performance, Timaya was quick to express his discontent with the abrupt increase in the price of gasoline after Tinubu announced the elimination of fuel subsidies.
Via his Twitter handle, he simply tweeted:
“No fuel for my moto”
No fuel for my moto 😤

Reacting to this, Nigerians urged him to embody the challenge with the 10 million, he made from the inauguration. The singer, however, showed no remorse as the saga continued to trail.
