The 16th Headies Awards were held on Sunday at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre amid pomp and splendor.

The event, dubbed “Celebrating African Renaissance,” was presented by Osas Ighodaro, a Nollywood actress, and Terrence J, an American media celebrity.

With thrilling performances, Odumodublvck, Young Jonn, Wande Coal, Kcee, Black Sherif, Asake, and others wowed the audience.

Rema was named Best Male Artiste of the Year, while Asake received a brand-new automobile after winning the highly sought Next Rated category.

Similarly, Odumodublvck was awarded a mansion in Lagos after being selected Rookie of the Year.

After much back and forth on social media, neither Blaqbonez nor TG Omori received the prize for Best Music Video of the Year; Director K took the honor.

While accepting his prize for Best Rap Album of the Year for ‘The Young Preacher,’ Blaqbonez maintained, “TG Omori and I are still the best directors.”

Rema took up three trophies in all, including Best Male Artiste of the Year, Digital Artiste of the Year, and African Artiste of the Year.
