The All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council said on Tuesday that the start of its campaigns, which had been scheduled for Wednesday, has been postponed.
Simon Lalong, Governor of Plateau State and Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, announced the news.
According to the statement, the timeframe was adjusted in response to the decision to increase the campaign council list in order to accommodate additional stakeholders.
The Governor stated that new start date would be announced soon.
“Recall that we had already set a peace walk and prayers for Wednesday, September 28, 2022, to officially kick-off our campaigns for the 2023 Presidential Elections,” the statement adds.
“We had also stated that members of the Campaign Council would report to Campaign Headquarters on that day to pick up their letters of appointment.”
“However, due to the list’s extension to include more stakeholders and interests inside the APC family, we have chosen to change the timetable of these activities to ensure everyone is on board before activities formally begin.”
“As a result, the events previously announced on September 28th will no longer take place.”
According to the DAILY POST, this might be related to the APC governors’ alleged complaint over the campaign list.
