Nigerian police have announced plans to investigate the police officer seen opening the car door for singer Spyro in a viral video.

Naija News reports that a video that went viral on Twitter shows the moment a police officer opens the car door for Spyro during the singer’s visit to his old neighborhood.

The “Who’s your guy” singer explained that he decided to visit where he lived when he had nothing to thank God for all he had done in his life.

However, the video was met with strong reactions from netizens, condemning the actions of the uniformed armed policeman.

In response, Olumuyiwa Force spokesman Adejobi acknowledged the video, adding that police were intensifying their efforts to catch the officer.

Adejobi described his actions as “unprofessional and ridiculous”.

He maintained that the force would stop such deployments/attachments immediately.

“This is indeed unprofessional and ridiculous. The video will be sent to relevant offices and units to fish him out.

“We will stop some deployments or attachments asap. U can imagine him (guess an inspector of police), moving with and opening the door for him,” he wrote.
