Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate for the February 25, 2023 election, spoke on Tuesday about possessing dual citizenship.

According to Naija News, Obi stated that he does not hold dual citizenship when speaking at the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Tuesday in Asaba, Delta State.

The former governor of Anambra State’s statement comes on the heels of the controversy surrounding President-elect Bola Tinubu, who purportedly obtained citizenship in another nation.

Remember that over the weekend, controversial journalist David Hundeyin posted photographs of a Guinean diplomatic passport carrying “Bola Ahmed Tinubu” and his portrait on his Twitter account.

Nigerians have called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate to clarify the air on the charge leveled against him.

Obi on his part noted that he is committed to Nigerians, adding that Nigeria is his country.

The LP presidential candidate added that if there is war outside this country and he is there, he will come back to Nigeria.

Obi said, “I’m a Nigerian. Committed Nigerian. I don’t have any dual nationality. So, this (Nigeria) is my own country.
