Inetimi Timaya Odon was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on August 15, 1980. He grew raised at Agip Estate, Port Harcourt, as the youngest of fifteen children in a huge family. His father worked in banking, and his mother worked in trading. Odon received his early schooling at Assemblies of God Nursery And Primary School. His secondary schooling began at Nkpolu Oroworukwo Secondary School in Port Harcourt. He would frequently violate house restrictions in order to attend late-night music events. Timaya’s mother planned for him to travel to Lagos with his older brother and sister before he graduated from high school. After relocating to the city, he enrolled in Lagos’ Ikeja Grammar School, where he eventually earned a secondary school diploma.
