Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter and a self-described free speech absolutist, had welcomed the musician, now known as Ye, back to the platform in October.
Musk claimed in a tweet earlier this month, “I tried my best. Despite this, he broke our rule against encouragement to violence once more, and his account will be suspended.”
Late Thursday, Twitter also limited one of Ye’s tweets. After Musk responded to a Twitter user who stated, “Elon Fix Kanye Please,” his account was suspended within an hour.
Twitter did not reply immediately to a request for comment.
Before Musk completed his 44 billion dollar buyout of the social media platform, Twitter reinstated the rapper’s account.
He later stressed, though, that he had no role in Ye’s return to Twitter.
