Due to their inability to recover in time, Liverpool’s Alisson and Diogo Jota will miss the Community Shield match against Manchester City.

Alisson hasn’t played since a preseason friendly on July 12 against Manchester United in Bangkok. The Brazilian goalkeeper has returned to training, but he will not be available to play against City on Saturday at the King Power Stadium.

To start the 2022–23 Premier League season, Liverpool will play Fulham on August 6, and Jurgen Klopp is still confident that his goalie will be available.

Jota is presently healing from a muscular ailment, although it is unclear when he will be able to resume his duties.

Klopp told the reporters on Thursday that Alisson and Diogo had no chance of beating Man City. Ali worked out more today than the previous day, so he will undoubtedly be available for Fulham but not for the weekend.

“Same goes for Diogo. Diogo couldn’t play a football game because he wasn’t present with us. Sadly, it will take some time. There you go.
