Following the death of a student, Whitney Adeniran, the Lagos State government has ordered the closure of Chrisland School in Opebi, Ikeja.
The Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo, said in a statement released to newsmen on Sunday, February 12, 2023, that the school would remain closed pending the outcome of a full investigation.
What the commissioner said: The commissioner expressed condolences to the deceased’s family and friends and prayed for the repose of her soul.
Adefisayo, on the other hand, urged calm, promising that “no effort will be spared” in investigating the incident.
What’s going on: In a statement circulated on social media, the late 12-year-father old’s called for an investigation into her death.
Michael Adeniran stated that she was not ill or in any way ill when the school bus picked her up for inter-house sports activities on Thursday, February 12, 2023.
