Nnamdi Kanu, the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is in great pain, according to Anambra State Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
The governor stated on the day of tribute for the late first Minister of Aviation, Chief Mbazulike Amechi, that the pro-Biafra activist is in pain due to insecurity in the South East geopolitical zone.

Soludo recalled Amechi’s request to President Muhammadu Buhari to free the IPOB leader.

The governor described that call as justified, saying Nnamdi Kanu described the killing in the South-east as an abomination.

He said: “Every criminal is claiming to be a freedom fighter in the South East and Kanu is in pain about what is happening in the region.

“Mbazulike Amechi was from Ukpor and unfortunately many of the criminals operate from Ukpor and he believed that the release of Kanu would facilitate the end of the criminality which has become a big industry.

“We want to separate criminals from those who are agitating for one thing or another.

“When I visited Nnamdi Kanu in prison, I told him about criminals posing as freedom fighters kidnapping and killing people. He referred to it as an abomination.

“My goal in calling for Nnamdi Kanu’s release is to separate the wheat from the chaff. We will know who the true agitation fighters and criminals are once he is released.
