Few Weeks after Nigeria’s Accountant General’s office gut fire, a portion of Abuja office of the Independent National Electoral Commission has also burnt by fire.
It was reported that the incident had influenced the office of the Director of the Register of Voters of INEC, Emmanuel Akem.
It began at approximately 10:30 a.m. and was quickly set up by a combined team of firefighters from the Federal Fire Service and the FCT Fire Service; assisted by officials from the federal emergency management agency.
Apart from the office equipment and the personal documents of the Voters Registry Director which were lost due to the fire incident, the review of existing of the Commission has not been affected in any way. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
